Adam Braun served as Executive Deputy Attorney General in the Illinois Attorney General’s office and has a long record of fighting for Illinois families.
As Executive Deputy Attorney General, Adam worked with Democratic Attorneys General across the country to stand up to the Trump Administration, served in national leadership to hold big pharmaceutical companies accountable for their role in the opioid epidemic, and built the first statewide crime gun tracing platform in the nation. Adam’s efforts generated over $10 billion to combat opioids and fentanyl and helped law enforcement fight gun trafficking. Under his leadership, the legislature passed the Preventing Youth Vaping Act to protect kids from predatory vaping companies and the Firearm Industry Responsibility Act to hold the gun industry accountable for its illegal activities.
Before Adam joined the Attorney General’s office, Adam worked with families across Illinois to take on powerful insurance company lobbyists to pass legislation requiring insurers to cover hearing instruments for children under the age of 18. Because of these efforts, children across the state now have access to hearing aids.
Adam also served on the board of the Foundation for Hearing and Speech Rehabilitation and the Illinois Holocaust and Genocide Commission.
Adam is a Chicago Public School parent. He lives with his spouse and children in Uptown.
